The Koroghoco you are not told about...

Wake up dear brothers!!!

“A woman’s place is in the kitchen,” I am sure you have heard of this saying or even use it yourself.  This only shows us how men perceive women.  These are many more sayings that degrade women, “A woman is only to be seen and not heard”, your job is to shut up and sire children.”  Oh! Please, wake up and face reality, those days are long gone and we – women, are busy trying to bury them.

I wonder who put into your heads that you are the stronger sex.  Why should you refer to us as the weaker sex?  If anything women are stronger than men because they take care of all the household chores, go to work, take care of the children plus their husbands who want to be treated like babies.  Can you imagine that the ‘stronger sex’ go to the extent of fighting for affection and attention of the woman together with the children?

I do not have anything against men, infact I respect them.  What I fail to understand is why they don’t want to respect us and give us credit where we deserve.  I honestly think it’s high time our proud African men borrowed a leaf from the white men.  The white men know that women are capable of being great leaders, politicians, historians, scientists, you name it.  That is why they give their women a chance to prove themselves.  Come on my dear brothers, it won’t hurt if you decide to give us the same chances.

We have all heard about Saint Daniel Comboni, infact in the past months, we have held a many celebration to mark his canonization, not forgetting the successful pilgrimage to Kibera.  Comboni realized that in order to succeed in his mission, he had to use Africans, thus the famous quote “Save Africa with Africans”.  He chose sixteen (16) girls whom he took to training at the Institute of Verona.  The girls came back and became teachers here in Africa.  He knew that the only way to penetrate into the homesteads and drum his message was through women and he succeeded.  Did this make him a lesser man?

“Behind every successful man, there is a woman” I don’t have to site any examples because we all know that it is true.  But for the sake of the doubting Thomases, I will talk about Manu Chandaria the leading CEO in East Africa.  During one of his speeches, he said “I dedicate this trophy to my wife, without whom I will not be here”.  We also know about Nelson Mandela who made it because of his former wife Winnie Mandela.  What more do you want from us?

God created both Adam and Eve using his own hands.  He sued his breath to bring life to the two of them.  Does this not show us that God looks at both men and women as equals?  “Wives be submissive to your husbands and husbands respect your wives”.  We read this in the Bible every day yet men turn a deaf ear.  It is a two-way traffic.  Respect us and we will obey you.

I am not the only one who think women can make it.  It seems that shaggy has the same thoughts and his are even stronger “I wonder if God is a woman”.  This proves that our brothers appreciate what women can do.  “The strength of a woman”.  We tend to associate anything from the western world as “negative influence”, but in this case all is “positive influence”.

Hallo!  It’s time you woke up dear brothers and embrace change.  Change is inevitable and as good as a rest.  Tie your shoelaces and get ready to run because we are coming after you and this time we are not taking any chances.

No!  Not women!!
